Job Description

GDIT's Federal Health Division is hiring a Deployment Site Practitioner to supports the full lifecycle of the Veterans Affairs Electronic Health Record (EHR) system implementation across multiple medical centers.

  • Work Location: Remote / Client Site (Nationwide)
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
  • On-Site Percentage: 40%
  • Remote with travel to client sites
  • High level of client interaction across clinical and operational teams

This role is responsible for conducting discovery activities, analyzing clinical and operational workflows, identifying gaps, and ensuring sites are prepared functionally to transition to the new EHR system.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead and organize discovery activities at hospitals, clinics, and shared service sites to assess workflows, clinical services, SOPs, research processes, and operational practices.
  • Perform post-discovery analysis to identify functional and clinical requirements, evaluate capability gaps, and inform deployment scope.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s standard capabilities, workflows, and services to support accurate discovery and gap analysis.
  • Support development of recommendations to address functional gaps and prepare sites for EHR transition.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clinical, operational, and functional stakeholders to ensure coordination and readiness throughout deployment.
  • Serve as an intermediary between technical teams and clinical stakeholders, translating requirements and system changes in clear, accessible terms.
  • Work closely with Change Management (CM) and End User Engagement & Adoption (EUEA) teams to provide clinical context and support key deployment activities.
  • Contribute to activities including:
    • User Readiness Assessments (URA)
    • Data collection and build activities
    • Workflow validation and testing
    • Training and adoption events
  • Document lessons learned at each stage of deployment to strengthen future implementations.
  • Travel periodically to hospitals and clinics across various geographic regions to support discovery, readiness, and onsite deployment efforts.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive electronic health records (EHR) support outcome-based functional capability of full-life cycle assessment and implementation
  • 3+ years of direct clinical information systems and stakeholder engagement experience supporting EHR activities for a software as a service (SaaS) managed EHR solution
  • Experience collaborating with clinical teams or operational leaders
  • Strong communication, analysis, and coordination skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting 
  • Ability to travel 50% to various VA client sites.

WHAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER (highly preferred):

  • Experience with Oracle Health EHR (or similar EHR vendor platforms)
  • Prior experience with hospital or clinic operational assessments
  • Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient clinical workflows
  • Experience supporting large-scale health IT initiatives or EHR deployment programs

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
