MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

As a vSAN Systems Administrator Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM.  USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.

You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas:

• Perform systems administration for enterprise VMware vSAN solution.
• Install, configure, and maintain VMware vSAN software.
• Analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system’s servers, hardware, applications, and software.
• Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Monitor everyday systems, evaluate availability of all server resources, and perform all activities for VMware vSAN software.
• Assist with configuring and deploying all virtual machines and installs and provide backup to all configuration procedures.
• Maintain and monitor all patch releases, designs various patch installation strategies, and maintain all systems according to program standards.
• Provide Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting support, interfacing with the end users and other technical teams from a service support perspective.
• Maintain datastores and underlying storage infrastructure.
• Monitor capacity and rebalance storage for different clusters and data centers. 
• Manage storage network for initiators and block storage targets. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 3+ years of experience
• Security Clearance Level: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
• Required Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation; Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC or CySA+
• Location: Offutt AFB, NE
• Hands‑on VMware vSAN and vSphere administration
• Experience with virtualized storage, SAN/NAS, and storage networking
• Strong Windows and/or Linux server administration
• Troubleshooting across complex enterprise environments
• Familiarity with backup and monitoring tools
• Experience with automation (PowerShell/PowerCLI)
• Background in enterprise or multi‑site data center environments
