Job Description

Position Summary


The Cyber Mission Delivery Manager oversees the execution, integration, and operational performance of mission-delivery across five core cyber defensive functional areas. The successful leader ensures that all mission-delivery teams effectively support cyber customer objectives to stop cyber threats, harden the terrain, and drive toward a safer national cyber ecosystem.

The role focuses on coordinating operational teams, ensuring delivery quality, maintaining mission readiness, and driving measurable impact across national cyber resilience missions. The candidate will work closely with the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, government stakeholders, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Mission Delivery Leadership Across Five Functional Areas

  • Oversee teams responsible for executing mission activities across:
    – Delivery of a modernized cyber defensive operations command center integrating incident response, situational awareness, and operational coordination.
    – Delivery of persistent, proactive hunting activities to identify adversary presence across federal and critical infrastructure environments.
    – Coordination of response actions to close vulnerabilities, reduce exposure, and improve partners’ ability to withstand nation-state aggression.
    – Production and dissemination of timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence that drives decision-making and defensive operations.
    –Prioritization, analysis, and coordination of risk-reduction actions based on vulnerabilities affecting federal and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure mission outputs support national cyber priorities such as actionable intelligence delivery, improved resilience, synchronized national defense posture, and accelerated crisis decision-making

Operational Execution and Performance Alignment

  • Ensure teams execute activities aligned with NIST SP 800‑61r2, the NIST Incident Response Lifecycle, RMF, and CISA’s Cybersecurity Incident & Vulnerability Response Playbooks
  • Oversee integration of threat analysis, asset response, and adversary activity assessments into mission delivery streams supporting partners across CI, SLTT, and Federal Civilian Executive Branch sectors
  • Ensure each functional team delivers timely, high-quality operational outputs t
  • Drive cross-functional planning to ensure cyber campaigns, defensive plans, and response actions.

Team Oversight and Mission Readiness

  • Oversee mission-delivery teams’ staffing, training, readiness, and alignment to evolving cyber threats and operational requirements.
  • Ensure teams maintain the capability to surge operations during crisis conditions and support faster time-to-detect, time-to-remediate, and service-restoration timelines
  • Establish consistent operational rhythms, quality assurance practices, and coordination frameworks across all five mission areas.

Cross-Functional Integration & Coordination

  • Coordinate mission-delivery activities with the Program Manager, Technical Director/Chief Architect, and other leadership stakeholders.
  • Ensure mission-delivery activities support integrated national cyber defense operations.

Performance Management & Outcome Tracking

  • Oversee mission area KPIs, operational metrics, and outcome measures that align to broader program performance goals.
  • Ensure remediation, threat hunting, intelligence, and vulnerability activities.
  • Identify operational risks and barriers, and coordinate mitigation actions with functional team leads.

Continuous Improvement & Modernization

  • Drive improvements across mission workflows, operational processes, and delivery frameworks.
  • Promote innovation within mission-delivery teams.
  • Ensure mission-delivery teams adapt rapidly to adversary tactics, technology changes, and evolving cyber risk conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing cyber operations, incident response, threat intelligence, or vulnerability management teams on large-scale federal cybersecurity programs.
  • Strong understanding of NIST SP 800‑61r2, incident response frameworks, cyber threat intelligence lifecycle, and threat hunting methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational teams delivering mission-critical cyber defense services.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and operational leadership skills.
  • Experience tracking performance metrics and aligning operations to mission outcomes.
  • Ten (10) years of overall cybersecurity experience with 5 years of management of cybersecurity teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting CISA, DHS, CYBERCOM national cyber centers, or large-scale enterprise SOCs.
  • Background coordinating cyber defensive operations across CI, SLTT, and federal civilian environments.
  • Experience with cyber campaign planning, defensive operations centers, or enterprise threat hunting programs.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
