Job Description

Own your opportunity to turn data into measurable outcomes for our customers’ most complex challenges. This customer-focused role integrates enterprise data management, data analytics, structured records management, system data accreditation support, and controlled data library services.

HOW A DATA MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • The Data Management Specialist Principal leads the development, control, and oversight of enterprise data, structured repositories, and mission‑critical document libraries within a customer‑focused environment.
  • This role integrates data library management, digitization services, structured records management, enterprise data analytics, data governance practices, and accreditation support.
  • The position ensures the accuracy, discoverability, and protection of operational and technical data across complex customer systems.

Responsibilities

Data Library & Controlled Repository Services

  • Establish and maintain structured program libraries for sensitive information with controlled access.
  • Track, safeguard, and log controlled documents, media, and equipment.
  • Manage document versioning, revision control, and structured document trees.
  • Coordinate document releases ensuring adherence to Sponsor templates and submission standards.
  • Support CDRL‑driven document and data submissions in alignment with Sponsor timelines.
  • Develop and maintain secure repositories, SharePoint libraries, and archival structures.
  • Serve as a focal point for controlled data requests, updates, and compliance questions.

Digitization Services & Records Management

  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for digitization, records management, and data processing workflows.
  • Maintain curated repositories of classified and unclassified materials, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Identify and prepare records for scanning; handle files, boxes, and containers as required by workflow.
  • Remove bindings such as staples, clips, adhesives, and binder materials; operate tools needed for document preparation.
  • Insert bar‑coded separators and tracking sheets to organize digitization batches.
  • Conduct 100% quality‑control reviews comparing digitized images to original source materials.
  • Maintain and update databases, logs, and spreadsheets tracking archived materials and workflow status.
  • Capture detailed document metadata including titles, publication dates, classification levels, and document types.
  • Enter metadata into electronic systems to support searchability, retrieval, and long‑term archiving.

Data Management & Operational Insights

  • Analyze lifecycle, operational, compliance, and technical data to support enterprise reporting.
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and visualizations for Sponsor leadership and technical teams.
  • Prepare validated datasets and analysis artifacts for forecasting, modernization, and risk analysis.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and compliance indicators across distributed systems.
  • Improve workflow automation, data quality checks, and reporting processes.
  • Provide expertise on data governance, data management best practices, and data discoverability.
  • Recommend improvements to enterprise data compliance and structured data management processes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, data, engineering, library science, management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data analysis, records management, data governance, or accreditation support.
  • Required skills:
  • Experience in data library management, digitization services, structured records management, enterprise data analytics, data governance practices, and accreditation support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • NARA Records Management Certification
  • Experience supporting controlled repositories, data libraries, and CDRL submissions
  • Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise tools.
  • US citizenship required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
