Development Lead for Agile Development Team

This individual serves as an expert in developing computer applications software or specialized utility programs and analyzing user needs to transform them into software solutions. The Lead may also analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of the Agile Development teams.

• Lead the daily technical activities of an Agile product team, driving development, testing, and deployment of cloud‑native features.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to refine user stories, estimate level of effort, and ensure predictable sprint delivery.
• Ensure all development adheres to DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, secure coding standards, and modern cloud architecture patterns.
• Promote code quality via peer reviews, reusable patterns, shared components, and strong documentation aligned with Definition of Done.
• Coordinate cross-team integration efforts to ensure product alignment, consistent user experience, and smooth release management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent experience is accepted for candidates with strong Agile leadership backgrounds.

• 10+ years experience developing software in an agile environment.
• Demonstrated experience in a DevSecOps environment.
• Demonstrated team leadership experience in an agile environment.
• Desired experience managing a codebase as if it were open source.

• Proficiency in modern development stacks such as Java, Node.js, Python, and front‑end frameworks like React.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure patterns.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, unit testing, and test‑driven development.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary Agile team members.
• Effective problem‑solving skills to identify blockers, technical risks, and dependencies early.
• Ability to mentor developers, support continuous learning, and drive engineering excellence.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality functionality every sprint and adhering to team-wide Definition of Done.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: Ability to pass a government security background check

Location: Remote. Some travel may be required.

Timeline: This is a contingent position, expected to start in March 2027.
