CIS is growing, and we invite both our experienced incumbents and new team members to be part of what’s next. Incumbents bring invaluable mission insight, while new talent adds fresh ideas and energy. Together, we’ll strengthen continuity and drive the next generation of innovation.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As an Enterprise Monitoring Systems Administrator supporting CIS, you will ensure continuous visibility, stability, and security of mission critical systems across multiple enterprise networks. You will manage and optimize monitoring infrastructure, maintain compliant configuration baselines, and deliver actionable insights that drive rapid troubleshooting and operational readiness. Your work directly enhances system performance, improves cybersecurity posture, and ensures reliable delivery of core IT services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise monitoring systems, including log aggregation, event management, telemetry collection, and performance dashboards
  • Monitor health, availability, and utilization of monitoring platforms and data pipelines, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance accuracy, resilience, and efficiency
  • Implement secure configuration baselines, system hardening standards, and STIG aligned controls across monitoring servers, agents, collectors, and integration components
  • Execute timely patching and security updates for monitoring platforms, integrated tools, and host systems using automated deployment and compliance technologies
  • Review weekly compliance and vulnerability scan results, identify noncompliant assets, determine root causes, and coordinate remediation actions with system owners
  • Track and apply approved security directives, task orders, and vulnerability notifications to ensure monitoring systems remain aligned with enterprise cybersecurity requirements
  • Configure and maintain alerting policies, performance thresholds, dashboards, and data collection profiles to support infrastructure, network, and application monitoring
  • Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and escalation support for complex monitoring issues including ingestion failures, alert anomalies, agent performance issues, and data latency
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to onboard new data sources, validate secure monitoring configurations, and support accreditation activities
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, patch schedules, alert logic, dashboards, and procedures to support audit readiness and change control

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree

  • CERTIFICATION: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, etc.)

  • CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph

  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Elastic/ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Nagios, Zabbix, or comparable tools)
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration, performance tuning, log management, and secure configuration practices
  • Experience performing patch management, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and compliance reporting across enterprise systems
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-team communication skills
  • US citizenship required

  • LOCATION: Onsite
