SENIOR CAD ENGINEER
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and support impactful mission outcomes as a Senior CAD Engineer at GDIT. Here, you’ll enable the success of the most critical government missions and the growth of a meaningful career in Construction and Support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
● Create 3D models and detail 2D production drawings of mechanical, electrical and structural naval systems. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is preferred.
● Familiar with military specifications (MIL-SPECS) and NAVSEA standards to develop technical data packages.
● Collaborate with customers, engineers and production personnel to optimize design and support production.
● Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to prevent possible design problems.
● Prepare for and participate in customer meetings and design reviews.
● Manage the impact of design changes across models, drawings and bills of materials (BOM) to maintain configuration control.
● Conduct ship checks on Navy vessels to gather data and verify existing configurations. Ability to access confined spaces and climb ladders.
● Mentor drafters, review their work and ensure drawing standards are met.

● Education: Bachelors of Science or equivalent
● Experience: 10+ years of related experience
● Security clearance level: Secret
● US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $73,965 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
