Job Description

GDIT has been supporting the IHS mission for 20+ years; working with the agency to provide integral services to raise health access and availability to 2.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives. You'll be part of modernizing the EHR platform to enable better data access, patient experience, and quality of care for 567 tribes, 37 states and over 600 medical facilities.

Our work depends on Business Analyst III joining our team to support the Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program known as PATH EHR. As Business Analyst III supporting the IHS EHRM program, you will be responsible for supporting Team GDIT in strategy development and operations planning for future implementations of PATH EHR.   

This position is fully remote with travel to in person events.

HOW PRINCIPAL BUSINESS ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Perform project management, administrative and analytical tasks in support of the IHS PATH EHR program.
  • Support Team GDIT, it’s partners, federal leadership/project managers to ensure planning timelines are well organized and running smoothly, including coordinating information and deadlines across projects.
  • Translate feedback and input into clear, well-organized project artifacts such as documents, process flows, and operational strategies.
  • Assist in the management of document repositories, developing project artifacts such as implementation frameworks, templates and standard operating procedures, and being a trusted resource to the project team.
  • Interact regularly with customers and other industry representatives supporting conversations with notes capture, action items, and follow-up documentation.
  • Help prepare internal and customer-facing materials including planning slide decks and process documentation.
  • Prepares progress reports and briefs on project status and milestones in accordance with communication plan.
  • Develop familiarity with healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and EHR implementation lifecycle concepts through hands-on support of internal planning activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare settings, preferably supporting EHR implementations.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, or Allscripts.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and analytic tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience supporting federal EHR programs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage frequently changing priorities of competing importance.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed written policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our program.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $108,970 - $147,430. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
