Job Description

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Security Specialist – Operations to join the F-35 program in Arlington, Virginia.

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) leads life-cycle management of the F-35 Lightning II, the fifth-generation joint strike fighter serving the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Cooperative Program Partners (CPP), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers across multiple classification levels — including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Special Access Programs (SAP), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full-spectrum, multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across the enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle, spanning Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operations globally.

The role of the Security Specialist – Operations (Senior) is to provide SME-level guidance and senior-level interface across F-35 JPO Security Directorate daily security operations at the Arlington, Virginia headquarters location, supporting multi-discipline security execution, documentation management, database operations, and security event coordination:

  • Execute daily security operations across General Security (GENSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Industrial Security (INDUSEC), and Information Security (INFOSEC) disciplines as directed by the F-35 JPO Security Director
  • Maintain and update U.S. Government security-related databases and systems of record, including the Joint Access Database Environment (JADE), Defense Information System for Security (DISS), local databases, SharePoint, and central archives
  • Draft, review, and maintain security documentation and publications, including Security Operations Manuals (SOMs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) achieving 100% accuracy before government acceptance
  • Provide security awareness training, briefings, and educational materials to F-35 JPO Government and contractor personnel
  • Support visitor control, badge administration, and access management operations at JPO Arlington facilities
  • Conduct risk assessments across applicable security disciplines and provide recommended mitigations to the Security Director
  • Perform task management and develop tracking methods for all government-identified priorities, tasks, reports, and security-related actions; coordinate with program office stakeholders, industry partners, and international personnel as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Security Management or a related discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience in multi-discipline security operations
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing security operations functions in support of DoD programs across multiple security disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience managing DoD security documentation, databases, and records management systems, including DISS and JADE
  • Experience supporting multi-classification security environments, including CUI, collateral, SAP, NATO, and SCI operations
  • Top Secret/SAR clearance required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
