As a Training Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission. An integral member of our Systems Engineering team and will be responsible for managing end-of-the-end curriculum for the Integrated Base Defense Systems under the PM Force Protection Systems portfolio.  This position will also have the responsibility of tracking the engineering team project schedule and driving the completion of project tasks and deliverables to the customer.
 

Meaningful Work and Personal Impact:

  • Leads the revision, delivery, and assessment of training content and materials, serving as the primary instructional and curriculum owner.

  • Provides one‑on‑one coaching to trainers and engineers to build the knowledge and skills needed for effective in‑person training.

  • Oversees the planning, research, evaluation, and improvement of IBD‑SS curriculum for Field Service Engineers across classroom and remote environments.

  • Collaborates with engineering leads to complete project tasks and deliverables for customers.

  • Leads and supports special projects and other assignments from the Systems Engineering Manager.

  • Reviews and updates core curriculum, recommending enhancements to learning objectives, course content, methodology, material design, and evaluation methods.

  • Develops and tailors lesson plans, learning objectives, instructor guides, student guides, and interactive multimedia materials.

  • Identifies curriculum update needs and revises lessons, readings, tests, and rubrics accordingly.

  • Oversees course maintenance and implements major curriculum modifications as required.

  • Supports the Systems Engineering Manager with developing and maintaining the in‑house training schedule and monthly train‑the‑trainer sessions.

  • Works effectively in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (experience may substitute).

  • Experience: 5+ years in training program management, including eLearning, distance learning, and familiarity with Systems Engineering and Project Management.

  • Proficient in classroom instruction, training delivery, and presentations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical, electronic, and mechanical drawings, including engineering schematics and blueprints.

  • Basic knowledge of networking components such as switches, routers, and servers.

  • Familiar with wiring and transmission media including COAX, fiber, Ethernet, and RF systems.

  • Proficient with software and authoring tools such as Office 365, Acrobat Pro, databases, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to maintain sensitive documents with a high level of confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of DoD training standards and instructional delivery methods.

  • Familiar with full curriculum management lifecycles, including maintenance, delivery, testing, course reviews, and training project plans.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to learn job‑related material through instruction, observation, and on‑the‑job training.

  • Active Secret clearance.

  • Valid U.S. passport.

  • On‑site position in Huntsville, AL.

  • Travel up to 50% CONUS/OCONUS based on mission needs.

  • CAPM, CPLP, and/or PMP desired

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $91,800 - $124,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
