It’s Go Time: Investing in Technology That Delivers for America

Authored by GDIT President, Amy Gilliland

We are living in a moment that will define the next American century. Now is the time for bold, strategic investment in America’s future: our security, our economy and the technologies that will define global leadership for decades to come. Ideas alone won’t protect soldiers on the battlefield, secure our nation’s critical infrastructure, or improve the efficiency of our healthcare system. We need to translate innovation into real-world impact – securely, responsibly and at mission speed. This Administration has made clear its commitment to harnessing advanced technologies like artificial intelligence to drive speed, savings and safety.

As a Systems Integrator, every system GDIT builds and every solution deployed is designed to reliably deliver mission value. From deploying advanced cyber technologies to protect our military, to operating supercomputers that deliver weather forecasts for emergency response and military planning, and building software that models chemical and biological attacks in real-time for our troops, GDIT’s hands-on, mission-essential IT systems save dollars, time and, most importantly, lives. These are no-fail systems that underpin our national security, infrastructure and services.

The future of U.S. government and our military’s technological superiority requires the effective integration of multiple commercial technology products into a single, cohesive IT system or solution. More than just deep mission expertise built over decades, GDIT understands how to securely develop these solutions; connect networks; integrate data; and leverage AI, cloud and cyber capabilities to ensure commercial technology works for the mission. More than 28,000 GDIT employees live this every day throughout the nation and in some of the highest threat locations globally. They are engineers, technologists, developers and, in many cases, veterans, who understand that national security, public safety and trust in government rely on systems that work, solutions that scale and missions that succeed.

As part of General Dynamics, GDIT is built on a 75-year legacy of pushing the bounds of what’s possible – from nuclear submarines and nearly supersonic jets to deep-space exploration and cutting-edge cyberspace capabilities – that has helped create the most powerful military the world has ever seen. This success is the result of a consistent commitment to investing in American innovation. Over the past decade, General Dynamics has invested more than $12 billion to modernize U.S. manufacturing, research and development, and technology innovation.

At GDIT, we prioritize investment in local economies across the country. One of our flagship tech hubs in Louisiana has created thousands of high-paying jobs in AI, cybersecurity and software development. In 2024 alone, we delivered $358 million in economic impact to the state. By 2034, we’re forecasted to generate $3.5 billion. But beyond economic growth, these efforts deliver value to the taxpayer.

When taxpayer dollars are invested in advanced technologies and secure IT systems, they strengthen national security and deliver tangible results. Our teams are using technology to solve our nation’s most complex problems, from safeguarding warfighters in the most austere environments to developing AI solutions that detect and prevent $1 billion in federal healthcare fraud annually. These efforts align with the Administration’s priorities – from AI modernization and smarter government to cybersecurity and economic competitiveness. We’ve been investing for years to meet this moment. We’ve built the solutions, trained the people and forged the partnerships needed to deliver transformative outcomes at speed and scale. That’s what investing in America looks like.

Our teams are using technology to solve our nation’s most complex problems, from safeguarding warfighters in the most austere environments to developing AI solutions that detect and prevent $1 billion in federal healthcare fraud annually.

In a world where our adversaries are moving fast, the United States can’t afford to be slow. America doesn’t just need big ideas; it needs technology that works and the agility to adapt in the future. To that point, today’s technology is not tomorrow’s innovation.

Part of the value of Systems Integrators is that they do not lock the government into a proprietary technology stack. GDIT brings best-in-class technology based on mission requirements, risk and cost. To accelerate this work, we’ve built a national network of labs to test, scale and deploy emerging tech. We’ve invested in a portfolio of Digital Accelerators and Mission Solutions that enable the fast and cost-effective application of advanced technologies, including AI, quantum, and cyber, that are usable in every government agency today. And we’ve forged deep partnerships with innovative firms like IonQ to bring quantum readiness to U.S. intelligence operations. This protects the government, enables innovation and creates the agility our nation needs as technology, missions and threats evolve.

It’s go time. And GDIT is ready to answer the call.
