Company will support development of advanced Electronic Warfare technologies for airborne platforms

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced today that it was awarded a $143 million electronic warfare contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD). The single-award task order, awarded in January by the Joint Electronic Attack Compatibility Office, includes a one-year base period and four one-year option periods.

Electronic Warfare (EW) enables warfighters to disrupt or manipulate adversaries’ communication and weapon systems. With the rapid pace of technological advancements and proliferation of modern radar and missile systems, the need for advanced EW capabilities to protect high-value military platforms in future conflicts has become increasingly critical.

Under the contract, GDIT will support the engineering, logistics, intelligence analysis and demonstration of technologies such as low-cost, agile EW jammers that can be deployed on various airborne platforms, including aircraft, helicopters and drones.

“As electronic warfare continues to evolve at a rapid pace, staying one step ahead of our adversaries is vital to protecting our national security,” said Brian Sheridan, senior vice president of GDIT’s defense division. “We look forward to continuing our 15-year partnership with NAWCWD and reimagining new and cost-effective ways to provide our warfighters with a mission-critical advantage on the battlefield.”
