Speaker Bios

Rob Smallwood, Vice President, Digital Modernization is a technology innovator and change agent with 30 years of experience working in leadership roles enabling GDIT customers to unlock the full potential of their modernization and transformation initiatives.

Rob holds the following ceritifcations: PMP, CSM, ITIL v3 Exp. ITIL 4 MP.


Andrew “AJ” McNamara is the Director of Managed Services within the Digital Consulting and Solutions group at GDIT. In this role, AJ is focused on helping GDIT to mature it’s managed service offerings. Before coming to GDIT, he worked at Raytheon Technologies for over a decade, holding numerous positions spanning various IT services, including oversight of two managed services: ServiceNow and VDI. He holds certifications in ITIL 4 as Managing Professional, PMP, and SAFe Agile Scrum Master.

AJ earned an MBA from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Information Science and Business.


Shaleen Braley is the Senior Program Director and Program Manager of a GDIT Special Access Program (SAP) within the Defense Air Force Business Area. Her primary focus is to transform this SAP into a scalable Multi-Level Security (MLS) hybrid cloud enterprise that delivers protection level (PL) 2, PL3 or PL4 services to meet the mission needs. In addition to her day job, Ms. Braley is a member of the Defense Cyber Center of Excellence where she collaborates the advancement of cyber compliance automation within GDIT.

Ms. Braley is a U.S. Army veteran, an active mom of 3, and volunteers at a national non-profit to raise awareness for childhood cancer research (Dance. Hope. Cure. A Truth365 Initiative). She holds a M.S. from Central Michigan University. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Project Management Professional, Certified HDI-Support Center Manager, and ITIL certified.


Omar Bhatti is Vice President, Technology Shared Services (TSS), where he leads a distributed team of over 2,500 staff members charged with utilizing innovative technologies and differentiated processes to deliver dedicated and leveraged managed services. GDIT works with civilian, intelligence, and Department of Defense customers to make today secure and tomorrow smarter. Core to this is our leveraged and managed services capabilities delivered from Bossier City, Louisiana, where TSS teams provide repeatable customer-focused solutions.

TSS has partnered with State of Louisiana Economic Development and educational institutions to ensure we are together building a resilient ecosystem to sustain long-term success. In Bossier City, the Integrated Technology Center, Cyber Innovation Center, and Customer Engagement Center provide a full range of next-generation IT services at a competitive cost for the company’s customers. Services include customer engagement, network solutions, cloud services, cyber operations and application development.

Omar is focused on supporting customers meet and exceed the demands of today while laying the groundwork for their mission execution and transformation journey. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Director of Office of the CIO (OCIO) Integration Management Office, where he was responsible for supporting the end to end IT Integration of GDIT and CSRA. Omar joined GDIT in 2016 and has also served as Senior Director, IT Business Solutions Leader (OCIO), in this role he was responsible for the technology development, implementation, and maintenance of all GDIT Enterprise business application services. Before joining GDIT, he worked for Computer Sciences Corporation, as the Senior Principal Leader for Data & Analytics Products and Operations across a fully distributed Global team.
