FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded a $510 million Worldwide Field Support (WFS) task order by the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) to continue providing global logistics, sustainment and maintenance services for the Army and its coalition forces. The five-year task order, awarded in July, includes one base year and four option years.
CECOM is responsible for sustaining the Army’s command, control, communications, IT assets, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and medical (C5ISR-M) systems. Together, C5ISR-M make up the central nervous system of military operations that soldiers rely on to monitor the battlefield and execute operations in real time. By ensuring operational readiness from the digital domain to the battlefield, CECOM plays a vital role in the Army’s mission success.
Under the task order, GDIT will provide logistics, sustainment and maintenance services to ensure the Army’s current and future C5ISR-M systems, such as radios, command and control, and environmental control systems, remain fully supported. GDIT will provide hardware and software support, field maintenance and deploy experienced personnel in forward locations to enable soldiers to operate these systems successfully across 190 locations worldwide, including Army bases and installations.
