Company will provide AI-enabled cybersecurity solutions for one million users across 187 bases
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded a $120 million task order under the U.S. Air Force’s Next Generation Gateway program to deliver a cybersecurity zero trust solution across its global operations. The new task order was awarded by the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base.
Under this work, GDIT will leverage its Everest Zero Trust Digital Accelerator to implement an integrated, data-centric cybersecurity solution that supports more than one million users across 187 bases worldwide. The solution will protect information at every level of classification and incorporate artificial intelligence to deliver enhanced threat detection capabilities. This effort will enable the Air Force to meet the Department of War chief information officer’s zero trust mandate well ahead of the Sept. 30, 2027, deadline.
“As cyber threats continue to escalate in velocity and sophistication from our adversaries, zero trust is fundamental to our national security,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for Defense. “As a long-standing partner of the Air Force, we look forward to delivering an advanced AI-enabled cybersecurity solution that will secure its data, mitigate threats quickly, and strengthen our warfighters’ advantage in cyberspace.”
For more than 50 years, GDIT has provided innovative cyber solutions for critical defense missions. In 2023, the company collaborated with the U.S. Army’s I Corps to successfully demonstrate the first-ever zero trust at the edge capability at Talisman Sabre. GDIT also provides cybersecurity services to protect the Air Force’s industrial control systems and zero trust capabilities to strengthen the U.S. Strategic Command’s enterprise IT network and operational readiness.
