FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) announced today that it was named a 2021 Global Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) Public Sector Partner Award winner for its work providing innovative cloud solutions for the Naval Information Warfare Center - Pacific (NIWC-PAC). The AWS Global Public Sector Partner Awards recognize leaders in the channel playing a key role helping customers drive innovation and build solutions leveraging AWS Cloud technology.
GDIT is being recognized for its work supporting the Navy’s Compile to Combat (C2C) vision. To support this mission, GDIT designed and developed the Collaborative Software Armory (CSA), a cloud-based Development, Security, Operations (DevSecOps) solution hosted in the AWS GovCloud region. CSA is currently leveraged by nearly 85 mission programs and has reduced the Navy’s software deployment process from months to days.
NIWC-PAC also needed a secure virtual desktop solution that supports Common Access Card (CAC) authentication to connect securely to CSA and other business applications on AWS. GDIT designed and deployed SkyDesk, providing anyone in the NIWC-PAC active directory secure access to systems and cloud services. SkyDesk has grown from a small number of end users, to now being the standard across NIWC-PAC. With over 1,200 end users, it has also supported the Navy’s mission through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic.
