Instructional Developer

The Instructional Developer is responsible for supporting training and career development activities for federal, state, and local government clients of GDIT. The person in this entry level position will work within an integrated team environment to assist with the production and execution of systems-based instructor-led training (in-person and virtual) to include instructor guides and student guides, as well as web-based training; the creation and maintenance of performance support products (e.g., user guides, quick reference guides, online help, blogs, etc.); the facilitation of virtual learning programs (e.g., webinars, demonstrations) to include scripts, presentations, and multimedia components; and the performance of quality reviews and creation of other career-related resources. Foundational instructional design, development, and facilitation skills are a must.
HOW AN INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Participate in developing educational strategies for new and existing instructional content to meet government training needs
● Attend consultation meetings with clients, subject matter experts and instructional designers to learn requirements and assist in creating innovative training programs and content
● Create instructional goals/outcomes and conduct research for relevant learning program content
● Create supporting content including instructor guides, student guides, supplemental training materials such as quick reference guides, web-based training, and other training content, as needed
● Perform complete and thorough quality assurance reviews of instructional/training products.
● Support learning technology initiatives, including webinars, online courses, and self-paced e-learning
● Prepare regular program content and messaging (course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach emails, etc.)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, e-learning, instructional design, or related field
● Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of major online delivery and content sharing platforms (i.e., MS Teams, SharePoint, WebEx, Adobe Connect, Blackboard, etc.)
● Security Clearance Level: Current DHS U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Background Investigation (BI) preferred or must have the ability to obtain one.
● Required Skills and Abilities: Understanding of all phases of the ADDIE process; Willingness to facilitate training in-person or on-line via virtual classrooms; Experience or training in developing of quick reference guides (QRGs) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) content (i.e., instructor and student guides); Knowledge of e-learning development principles; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Works well in a team environment
● Preferred Skills: Experience creating systems-based training materials (i.e., information system/application user interface and user experience processes and procedures) and experience engaging subject matter experts, performing quality assurance (QA) reviews, and gathering training requirements
● Location: Customer site located in Ashburn, Virginia
● US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $60,174 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
