Systems Engineer Sr Advisor

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:   

  • You will join our talented Systems Architecture Team. Our project is built on a multi-tier architecture including Service Oriented architecture, multi-tier web applications using Java and various other COTS products.
  • You’ll be responsible for middleware installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and identifying performance improvements.  
  • You’ll administer a wide variety of middleware components in a 24/7/365 high availability client environment. Primary responsibility is Production support to include monitoring, troubleshooting, and triage. 
  • You’ll install, configure, and maintain the JBoss middleware infrastructure supporting a high-volume mission critical Healthcare system with stringent security and performance requirements 
  • You’ll ensure installation, configurations, and maintenance procedures of all changes to middleware infrastructure are of highest quality and capable of meeting all client SLAs. 
  • You’ll install upgrades and patches associated with JBoss and related middleware products.   
  • You’ll package, deploy applications, migrate, performance tune, troubleshoot and resolve application services, maintains security, and automates routine procedures through scripting. 
  • You’ll work constructively with other team members  
  • You’ll perform complex systems administration.  Monitor and tuns appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance.  
  • You’ll oversee appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages.  
  • You’ll collect and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes.   
  • You’ll analyze capacity data and develop capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems.   
  • You’ll oversee and apply appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity.  
  • You’ll develops and maintain appropriate system documentation  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:    

  

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience:  

  • Eight or more years of experience in working on middleware support teams in high-volume a mission critical environment
  • Five (5+) years’ experience in JBoss Middleware System’s Administration role 
  • One+ year experience with Health Exchange Systems
  • Experience in the JBoss family of middleware infrastructure  
  • Experience in developing appropriate monitoring and alerting processes within the mid-tier environment 
  • Experience developing custom operation scripts for day-to-day JBoss operations  
  • Experience configuring/supporting Mulesoft, Opentext, SPLUNK, Jaeger framework nice to have  
  • Experience in administering the WAS family of middleware infrastructure (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal Server, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere MQ) nice to have  

Skills:  

  • Self starter, takes initiative to uncover and resolve issues in order to promote a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Able and willing to participate in 7x24 on call support as required 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to interact with team and client staff and remain calm under pressure

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
