Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) team at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.

HOW OUR NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining network devices (switches, routers) of data and communications networks as part of Network Team.

  • Work with Tier I/II Service Desk Technicians and cable's team to resolve customer impacting network outages, network changes and activation.

  • Monitor, assign, and work Service Now tickets ensuring they are resolved within the established Service Level Agreement

  • Analyzes network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements

  • Monitor network connectivity

  • Create Standard Operations Procedures and Shift Reports

  • Maintain team schedule

  • Handle all escalations

  • May work odd hours to support facility maintenance actions to minimize customer impact.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Will work mid-shift Sunday - Thursday

WHT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance

  • Required Experience: 5 years of network engineering or network administration experience

  • Required Certification: DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE or higher) and Computing Environment certification

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Required Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with the Network Administration

  • Location: Onsite at the Pentagon - Arlington, VA

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $91,811 - $106,162. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
