Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Representative – Boomerang III (BG III) and Expendable Unattended Ground Sensors (EUGS) in Djibouti AFRICA. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.

At GDIT, our people are the driving force behind every mission. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Systems Technician to support the deployment, sustainment, and maintenance of the Boomerang III (BG III) and Expendable Unattended Ground Sensors (EUGS).  Expendable Unattended Ground Sensors (EUGS) program consisting of the EUGS-A, EUGS-Slew to Cue, and EUGS-Tower systems. Designed to enhance force protection, Boomerang is integrated across tactical vehicle platforms including the Humvee, Stryker, and MRAP.

OCONUS Field Service and training support for three (3) Quick Reaction Capability products consisting of: - Gunshot Detection program consisting of the vehicle Boomerang III system and the Fixed Site Sniper Detection System (FSSDS).

How you'll make an impact:

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tactical electronics, battlefield sensors, or C5ISR systems, and will excel in expeditionary, austere, and multi-threat environments but not limited to

  • Provide sustainment of all employed systems within the AFRICOM and CENTCOM AORs.
  • FSRs will also issue, train, and sustain additional systems in response to newly validated requirements are expected to travel within the AORs.
  • Equipping/issue, install, train, sustain, replace, pack, wrap, ship. Will use existing qualified personnel for labor, assumed density of supported systems will remain at current levels for the period of performance.
  • Install, configure, and test Boomerang gunfire detection systems on tactical platforms such as Humvees, Strykers, and MRAPs.
  • Perform system diagnostics, firmware updates, and field repairs on sensors, microphones, and control modules.
  • Train military personnel on system operation, troubleshooting procedures, and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Collaborate with government and contractor teams to support upgrades, gather user feedback, and report system anomalies.
  • Maintain technical documentation, perform environmental readiness checks, and support logistics for spares and system sustainment.
  • FSR must be Familiar with GCSS-Army Work Order process.
  • Reporting Requirement: Customer will provide a template of information on report. (Preferably GCSSA Format) Weekly.
  • Prevented Maintenance Check Services (PMCS), Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.
  • Travel will be Require to Other Work Sites in HOA.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military experience) in Electronics, Information Systems, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience supporting sensor systems, C5ISR platforms, or vehicle-mounted electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with field installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic or RF-based systems; proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
  • Operational familiarity with Boomerang, PILAR, or similar gunfire detection/localization systems; experience integrating with Land Warrior systems is a plus.
  • Prior military service, preferably with the U.S. Army, USMC, or SOF, in a C5ISR, communications, or combat support role.
  • Working knowledge of COMSEC protocols and secure communications system integration.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Must possess an active U.S. SECRET clearance, valid driver’s license, and current U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity and 4 blank pages); must also meet all medical deployment requirements through CRC.
  • Direct Labor for FSR and support personnel will be based out of Djibouti, HOA on 84 hours work week, 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Candidate is required to perform other additional duties and assignments in support the Contract.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety Shoes must be worn on worksite.
  • Employees are required to purchase PPE and Safety Shoes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with Boomerang, PILAR, or comparable gunfire detection and localization systems
  • Prior support of U.S. Army, USMC, or Special Operations Forces (SOF) in a C5ISR, electronic warfare, or combat support capacity
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical installation manuals
  • Familiar with COMSEC handling procedures and integration of secure communications systems into tactical platforms

Compensation includes:

  • Salary, 30% Hardship, Daily Per Diem, and Compensation Bonus at the end of 12 months.

  • CAC and LOA, and passport should have at least a year

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $79,747 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
