MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
As a Network Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

• Configures and maintains network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Plans and executes network upgrades and expansion to ensure optimal performance and capacity
• Supports regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security gaps
• Monitors network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents and breaches
• Develops and enforces security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Uses scripting to automate security tasks and security tool development. 
• Designs and implements scalable and robust network solutions to support organizational needs
• Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network
• Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has authority to deviate from standard operating procedures
• Maintains detailed documentation of network configurations, changes and procedures
• Stays up to date on current cybersecurity best practices and procedures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, or related experience
Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of standard networking concepts like routing, VPNs, and LAN/WAN architecture
• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud networking concepts like ENIs, gateways, load balancers, ACM, and Route 53
• Proficiency with various security products, including firewalls,  WAFs, and vulnerability scanners
• Experience with one or more programming or scripting concepts such as Python, Terraform, or PowerShell
• Deep understanding of information security principles, such as cryptography, threat mitigation, and security trends
• Comfort with a dynamic environment where creative solutions are required to resolve non-standard problems and meet evolving requirements

Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Location: Hybrid at GDIT's Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, LA
