Cable Television (CATV) Technician III

HOW A CABLE TELEVISION (CATV) TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

     ● Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.     

     ● **Describe interactions with the team to achieve the mission**

     ● Under direct supervision, determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks and test links, and installs communication circuits.

     ● Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.

     ● Verifies services by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

     ● Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs telecommunication equipment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

     ● Education: High School Diploma/GED

     ● Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Personnel in this labor category are considered experts in the field. Lead level experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, alignments, testing, and troubleshooting of CATV broadcast receive equipment as specified in the task order to include:

• Downlink Antennas

• LNBs

• Decoders

• Modulators

• Signal Monitors

• Fiber optic distribution equipment

• Video ticker system

• Phase Alternating Line (PAL) Encoding System

     ● Security Clearance Level: SECRET

     ● Location: On Customer Site

     ●US Citizenship Required: Yes - CLEARANCE

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY (INTERNAL REFERENCE ONLY):

Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.

28. Cable Television (CATV) Technician III

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Lead level of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment. Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $33.49 - $45.31. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
