As a Senior Systems Administrator within the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U), you will be at the forefront of managing a diverse and critical IT infrastructure. Your expertise will span Linux and Windows platforms, including the configuration and administration of on-premises and cloud-based directory and device management solutions to ensure seamless, secure operations. This role demands strong problem-solving skills for Tier 2/3 support and expert administration of enterprise services like Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server, all crucial for maintaining high availability and reliability for our mission partners.
HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Administer and optimize a hybrid environment of Windows (Server 2019/2022) and Linux systems, identifying and resolving issues to guarantee peak performance, robust stability, and ironclad security.
Strategically deploy, manage, and enhance VMware ESXi/vSphere environments, ensuring the continuous optimization of virtual machines and services critical to mission success.
Oversee and advance Cisco hyperconverged datacenter infrastructure, contributing to resilient physical and virtual network management for a high-efficiency data environment.
Implement and manage Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure, driving operational enhancements and fostering innovation through cloud technology.
Develop and maintain clear, authoritative documentation (SOPs, TTPs), empowering team consistency and effectiveness.
Serve as a key escalation point (Tier 2/3) for complex technical challenges across Linux, virtual, Windows, and cloud platforms, minimizing downtime and maximizing user productivity through diligent investigation and resolution.
Administer Active Directory OUs across on-premises and cloud landscapes, safeguarding critical identity functions and ensuring compliant, efficient directory operations.
Collaborate with network and security teams to architect and implement robust security measures, proactively responding to threats and fortifying infrastructure using your deep understanding of networking fundamentals.
Guarantee business continuity by designing and implementing rigorous system backup and data archival strategies across all platforms, ensuring rapid data recoverability.
Enforce DoD STIG compliance across all systems, services, and applications, establishing and maintaining a robust security posture to meet stringent regulatory demands.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military/government systems administration experience preferred.
Certification: Compliant with IAT Level II certification as per DOD 8570 requirements.
Required Experience: Minimum 4 years of dedicated experience as a Systems Administrator, with substantial Tier III support background demonstrating advanced problem-solving capabilities.
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server 2019, and Cisco Hyperflex Services; Dual-platform expertise in both Windows and Linux administration; Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting;
Security Clearance Level: A DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Required Skills and Abilities: Occasionally required physical activity for equipment troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills: Advanced industry certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization; Robust understanding of networking principles and fundamentals, enabling effective collaboration on complex network and security challenges.

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
