Job Description
  • Required to weld all grades of steel, aluminum and various stainless steels using GMAW and GTAW processes.  Qualifications are achieved by actual weld test samples to meet military, aerospace and AWS specifications.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication of sheet metal and various structures.  Must be able to weld .050 and up in thickness.  Knowledge and skills operating various fabrication tools is required.
  • Weld metal parts together using brazing and a variety of arc welding equipment.  Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.  Repairs broken or cracked parts, weld repair holes and perform weld build-up to achieve required dimensions.  Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.  Ability to read blueprints.  Ability to design and build fixtures/jigs to increase productivity.
  • Required to read and interpret weld symbols, detail drawings and weld specs and procedures.  Must be able to pass welder workmanship and follow Mil-Standards.
  • Must be able to solve problems independently with minor supervision.  Must provide basic tools and a toolbox.  Ability to hold tight tolerances.  Must be familiar with operating band saws, grinders, milling machine, plasma cutter, torches, drill press and other shop equipment hand tools.  After welding is completed, the ability to maintain squareness and flatness requirements before turning into Quality Assurance.

3+ years’ experience required with Welding Aluminum. 

HS Diploma

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.85 - $29.90. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
