MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Linux Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the customer’s mission.

· Maintain and manage Linux systems, including performing regular updates, backups, and troubleshooting.

· Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance.

· Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, access controls, vulnerability assessments, and STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides) compliance.

· Develop and utilize automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.

· Manage and ensure consistency in system configurations and compliance with corporate standards.

· Troubleshoot complex system hardware and software issues in a timely manner.

· Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Linux Engineer must have:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.

· Minimum of 8 years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering roles.

· Proficiency in scripting languages for automation.

· Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestration.

· Solid understanding of network protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, ICMP, SSH, and SNMP.

· Comprehensive knowledge of Networking, VLANs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and addressing schemes.

· Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.

REQUIRED

· Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret and SCI eligible

· Location: Onsite

· Required: DoD 8140 IAT II compliant

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
