Job Description

The U.S. Coast Guard is dedicated to providing timely, actionable intelligence that drives mission-critical operations. By leveraging disciplined methodologies, professional processes, and unique technical and intellectual capabilities, we develop and disseminate intelligence that meets operational requirements. This mission is supported by a collaborative network of intelligence professionals spanning federal, state, local, and international levels.

Contract requires a US Citizenship and candidate must have an active Top Secret/SCI eligible.

Limited telecommuting is allowed on a case-by-case basis. However, the candidate must reside locally and spend the majority of their time on-site at the USCG Facility.

HOW A WEB DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Developer supporting the U.S. Coast Guard, you will play a key role in maintaining and advancing mission-critical tools and platforms. Your responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining the CompTIA Security+ certification within 60 days of onboarding.
  • Providing critical support to the watch floor during real-world operational events and exercises.
  • Collaborating as part of a team to maintain, update, and design sites and pages across UNCLASS, SIPRNet, and JWICS platforms, leveraging various versions of SharePoint.
  • Contributing to the design of innovative tools to ensure intelligence products are accessible, actionable, and impactful for customers and intelligence partners.
  • Supporting operational readiness during hurricane season by developing and maintaining tools to track tropical storms and hurricanes.
  • Delivering technical and account support for USCG-wide programs and systems.
  • Gaining an understanding of Microsoft 365 tools (or demonstrating the ability to learn), including:
    • Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Azure.
    • Microsoft 365 group management.
    • The relationships between Microsoft 365 Application Suite, MS Teams, MS Groups, Active Directory, and SharePoint Online.
  • Developing the ability to understand complex intelligence concepts and metrics, supporting intelligence collection efforts.
  • Demonstrating problem-solving skills to overcome blockers and challenges in the operating environment.
  • Supporting team success with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Adhering to and respecting command policies and regulations to maintain a professional environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Commitment to obtaining the CompTIA Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field (preferred).
  • 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in development or a related discipline.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $104,550 - $141,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
