Job Description

publications.  

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:

TECHNICAL EDITOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Review current source documents for the DMM and remove all formatting, macros, tagging, and coding.
  • Compose, design and layout publications, particularly the DMM and Quick Service Guides (QSGs) using Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Illustrator. Apply new formatting, styles, and coding as specified by the client.
  • Produce monthly DMM and QSGs in PDF and HTML format to be posted on the Postal Explorer website. Output 508-compliant HTML files using WebWorks publisher.
  • Document SOP (including style guides) for producing the DMM and QSGs.
  • Support other initiatives as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker is required
  • Technical Writer or Editor with a minimum of 5 years of professional relevant editing experience
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.  The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Hybrid- 2-3 days required onsite with customer- Washington, DC

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $90,495 - $122,435. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
