Job Description
GDIT’s Military Health team is hiring a Research Assistant to support human subject research studies for the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) and the Defense Intrepid Network (DIN) located on-site at Walter Reed in Bethesda, MD.The NICoE is dedicated to improving the lives of patients and families affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) through collaborative efforts with patients, families, referring providers, and researchers.  This position is responsible for assisting with the performance of clinical investigation projects in a clinical setting, including recruitment of potential study subjects, collection and organization of data, scheduling patients for follow up appointments.Position reports daily on-site at Walter Reed in Bethesda, MD. Hours are 7:30 - 4:00pm.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  •  Performs data entry for clinical investigation projects and maintains databases including recruitment/screening of potential study subjects, collection, and organization, and entry of data, scheduling, and testing subjects for follow up appointments.
  • Assists in the preparation of technical reports, summaries.
  • Maintains study related documents, secures, organizes and documents as required following all federal/ state regulations.
  • Assists with review and completion of SOPs.
  • Screen, consent, and/or schedule potential research participants for testing or evaluation.
  • Facilitates follow-up assessment reminders, scheduling, and testing with all related documentation.
  • Transcribes and resolves data queries in study forms (hardcopy and/or electronic); prepares documents, under direction of project leaders; prepares data for statistical analyses and reports descriptive data to be used in research/clinical investigations/studies reports.
  • Maintain awareness and compliance of research regulatory issues.
  • Communicate regularly with study team, under direction of project leaders, via email and conference calling as needed.
  • May assist with TBI program/ project improvement initiatives at NICoE or the Defense Intrepid Network.
  • Assist with literature searches, obtaining articles for review.
  • Assist with obtaining and collating materials for reports, manuscripts, grant submissions and meetings.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, operations, and execution of various meetings through calendar invitations, attendance lists, audio/visual MS Teams support, and relaying of taskers between client and program management organization
  • Support the planning, development, and coordination of a variety of management and administrative functions, in areas such as personnel, administration, and program management.
  • Support the management and maintenance of key organizational data, rosters, and taskers.
  • Support other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Aid leadership in implementation of issuances/instructions and forms management programs.
  • Must adhere to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (required):
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Human Subjects training complete.
  • 6 months or more experience supporting human subject research/clinical investigations/studies.
  • Must have or complete CITI/ HIPAA training (within 6 months of hire date)
  • Ability to obtain a favorable T1 security clearance.
  • Must be able to report daily on-site at Walter Reed in Bethesda, MD. Hours are 7:30 - 4:00pm.
WHAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER (preferred):
  • Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care preferred.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $52,270 - $51,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
