Solutions Director

GDIT is seeking a Technologist with deep Department of Navy experience and strong technical expertise to work in the CTO team with our Navy team to drive the business strategy and technical solutions needed to win our most complex, large scale and strategic proposals while working with the Defense CTO and our numerous GDIT capability teams. This is one of the company's most important customer facing roles, and it will give you the opportunity to provide the strategic technical direction of our Navy go to market approach and interact with bleeding edge technologies and collaborate with the teams who are designing and building solutions like those expressed within our Digital Accelerators that we are bringing to our customers. To be successful in this role you must be able to translate relevant details about technologies into a language that DOD personnel appreciate and can be understood by management and other stake holders.

You will be responsible for defining and curating the technical strategy and vision for the NMC Sector by collaborating with the Navy and Marine Corps Business Area leadership and with our GDIT accelerators.   You will leverage deep technical acumen and a track record of winning major captures in the domains of Edge Computing, Application Modernization, Defensive and Zero Trust Cybersecurity, Digital Experience, Networks, MBSE, Information Advantage (data and AI), and Cloud and Data Center to influence to drive compelling and differentiated solutions on proposals.  You should also have conversational level understanding of wireless networking (5G and LEO), autonomous systems, quantum computing, and other emerging Navy impacting technology. The responsibility for determining our customers' needs and priorities, crafting technical solutions responsive to those needs, helping to shape customer acquisitions, and positioning GDIT to win makes this both a challenging and rewarding opportunity!

You will build enduring relationships of trust with the business and Growth leadership NMC business and leverage existing relationships.  You will provide timely insights to ensure successful program delivery to meet customer needs and to frame GDIT as an innovation leader, and to help qualify compelling pipeline opportunities. 

You will represent GDIT technically by participating in external events representing our points of view across the relevant technical domains and will develop a keen understanding of where our customers are on their modernization journeys.   

Acting as Navy and Marine Corps ambassador and conduit to interact with the corporate accelerator to both advocate for Navy and Marine Corps needs and to identify programs and captures into which we can pilot funded innovations.

Approximately 25 – 50% travel required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to write white papers to influence and shape potential opportunities resulting in higher PWIN.
  • Create and implement technical roadmaps for existing program based on Digital Accelerators and vendor technology with the goal of introducing automation, efficiencies, and OCG (on contract growth)
  • Drive the solution strategies of the NMC portfolio of priority captures and opportunities with a view to attaining ‘blue’ evaluations, thereby driving sustained growth by collaborating and influencing the line and growth and by influencing/directing Solutions Architects on your team and throughout GDIT.
  • Cultivate trust relationships with BA Managers and growth leadership within NMC based on understanding their priorities and needs, and in helping them deliver flawlessly, drive and achieve sustained growth and cultivating impactful relationships with GDIT customers.
  • Participate in industry events to position GDIT capabilities, points of view and differentiation and to develop relationships with prospective and existing Department of Navy customers.
  • Supports marketing and sales efforts by engaging customers to understand their priorities, needs and identifying opportunities for GDIT to add value.
  • Advocates for prioritization of NMC needs in establishing investment strategy.
  • Collaborates with NMC line and growth to identify opportunities for insertion of GDIT capabilities and partner innovations onto program and captures.
  • Maintains tech roadmaps for the larger NMC programs
  • Engage current and prospective customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically-sound solutions and to understand customer’s priorities and challenges.
  • Identifying and promoting a healthy portfolio of alliance partners to embrace innovation and disruptive technology and where possible, showcase developing technology both internally and externally.
  • External - Representing GDIT technically by participating in external events representing our points of view across the relevant technical domains and develop a keen understanding of where our customers are on their modernization journeys.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
    Required Experience: 20+ years designing and delivering solutions in the DON; 20+ years of experience in DON program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and have served clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems
  • DON experience in cyber, training, IT, networks, or business systems
  • Required Technical Skills: Application Modernization, Defensive Cyber, Digital Experience, Networks, Information Advantage (data and AI), and Cloud and Data Center 
  • Experience in the development, drafting, and writing of Technical and Program Management solutions in context of DON and/or other parts of the DOD
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $191,250 - $258,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
