Job Description

GDIT has an immediate opening for an International HR Expatriate Payroll Tax Analyst. The selected candidate will administer and manage the Expatriate / International Assignee Tax Program including tax equalization, shadow payroll, and related services and compliance programs. As an individual contributor, you will develop and deliver compliant wage / payroll tax and social insurance programs for cross-border workers on short- or long-term assignment on U.S. Government, foreign government, or commercial contracts. The position is responsible for GDIT compliance in the areas of home and host wage / payroll taxes including imputed income, reconciliations, allocations, tax settlements, foreign remittances, accruals, and reporting of GDIT’s expatriate tax program.

You will support the broader International Human Resources and Global Mobility Team. Additionally, you will document processes, develop communications, and deliver training to stakeholders including employees, managers, and functional departments. Other projects that the successful candidate will lead or contribute to include: country-level global mobility frameworks, business process improvement and automation, and other projects as required. The position will work closely with Payroll, AP, HR, Program Managers, Employees, Contracts and Pricing, and multiple external vendors. 

This role will require a Hybrid schedule to Falls Church, VA office three (3) days per week.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Full-lifecycle expatriate / international assignee tax program service delivery with tax equalization, shadow payrolls, and tax protection programs,
  • Coordinate with foreign vendors for execution of foreign payrolls,
  • Administer processes for:
    • Home country wage / payroll tax transactions including Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, state tax declarations, imputed income calculations and withholdings,
    • Consult with Finance regarding administration of accruals and GL processing of the costs related to shadow payrolls
    • Process tax settlements,
    • Calculate foreign wage / payroll taxes in coordination with foreign vendors,
    • Shadow payroll reporting, and remittance through foreign wire,
    • Shadow payroll account reconciliation and employee adjustments, and
    • TEQ and shadow payroll year end administration. 
    • Assist IHR Expatriate Tax Manager in audits related to the shadow payrolls
  • Develop, document, communicate and train stakeholders on international assignment tax programs and home and host country wage / payroll tax and social insurance obligations, and
  • Vendor invoices and internal allocation of cost of service ensuring service delivery to the organization

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, or a related business discipline, plus 2+ years related payroll and/or tax experience.  In lieu of degree, 6 yrs of related experience is required.
  • Experience with administration of foreign tax services highly desired, including tax equalization, shadow payrolls, individual income tax returns, and social insurance taxes. 
  • Cross-functional role or project experience with Payroll or Tax. 
  • Demonstrated experience with process change management, training stakeholders, and cost projections and/or Hypothetical Tax calculation and administration. 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Payroll OR Tax systems
  • Preferred Technical Skills: Accounts payable workflow systems, Oracle financial systems or other related EPMS
  • US Person required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $87,515. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
