HOW a NOC Network Operations Lead MAKES AN IMPACT

At GDIT a Network Operations Center (NOC) Network Operations Lead provides operational leadership and oversight of Network Equipment activities and technologies of the 24x7x365 Network Operation Center (NOC) supporting the network operations of multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. The Network Operations Center (NOC) Network Operations Lead will manage and direct the Network Operations team members performing the day-to-day operations and administration of network monitoring systems, identifying and reporting incidents, resolving and tracking incidents to maintain system availability and optimal network performance. This role is responsible for the managerial and technical oversight of NOC Network activities including workforce direction, processes, and reporting. This role manages NOC Network services to support optimized network performance to meet or exceed contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


HOW A NOC Network Operations Lead WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Oversight for network, cyber and physical security monitoring systems, manage change requests, incident response, and problem resolution for network-related issues for NOC services.
  • Mentor and develop junior analysts including KPI management, helping them grow into seasoned professionals. Maintain and improve network monitoring, alerting, and documentation standards.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex incidents requiring deep technical expertise
  • Coordinate real-time response to security events, network issues, and physical security alerts, coordinate with cybersecurity, system administration, and engineering teams to ensure integrated system performance. Provide regular reporting on network health, incident metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Present to leadership on security posture, incidents, and operational improvements, participate in external audits, inspections, and security assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and process optimization, develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and disaster recovery plans.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in a related field. (Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
  • Required Experience:
    • Experience and expertise in oversight of multiple teams supporting the design, implementation and operations of the NOC.
    • Experience with development or implement tools, dashboards, and workflows for customer scheduling, real-time monitoring, fault detection, and performance optimization with an emphasis on a small team footprint and considering AI-driven automation and machine learning solutions.
    • Experience in developing automated alerting and remediation processes to detect, diagnose, and respond to network and system issues without direct human intervention.
    • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skills
    • Thorough knowledge of ITSM best practices and supporting systems
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • NOC/SOC operations background – you've been in the trenches and know what works
    • Incident management expertise with a track record of managing complex, multi-team responses
    • Scripting abilities for automation and efficiency improvements
    • Demonstrated experience in managing around the clock operations ensuring services are maintained at SLA levels.
    • Experience with operations and administration of multiple network vendor systems
  • Security Clearance Level:  DoD Secret Level Clearance required
  • Required Certifications: CISM or DOD 8140 equivalent (CASP+, CCNA CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, CISA, CISSP, GSLC)
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
    • Adept at interfacing with Government at senior leader levels and representing the interests of GDIT

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years leading Network operation staff taskings within a NOC
  • ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher

Location:  Oklahoma City, OK (position may start remote and move onsite)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $99,549 - $124,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
