Our work depends on an Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Engineering Test Lead joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities.

As an Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Engineering Test Lead supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates AWS Engineering group at each site

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired AWS equipment architecture, functionality, and training

  • Ensure all AWS elements are fully functional and ready to support all test and operational events

  • Operates as the primary liaison between the AEGIS waterfront test teams and AWS computer program developers for AWS computer program technical issues

  • Maintains responsibility for the following:

    • Combat systems alignment verification (CSAV)

    • Radiation safety (SPY/FCS)

    • Installation engineering lead for ACS and new ACS implementations

    • Supports the shipbuilder for system installations

    • Reviews technical data package for system implementation

    • Provides reviews of physical arrangement

    • Manages the cable data base including the Automatic Cable Tester (ACT) list

    • Monitors, ACS support systems (ECW, dry air, HVAC, ship’s power)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in the relevant field and 15+ years of relevant experience (or 19+ years of experience without a degree)

  • A US DoD Secret security clearance is required

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $98,062 - $132,672. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
