IT Quality Analyst (Regression Tester)

Our work depends on a Regression Tester joining our team to support New York State Department of Heath Medicaid Management Information System activities at Riverview Center in Menands, NY. As a Regression Tester supporting the eMedNY Production Regression Team, you will be trusted to examine and review daily regression results and re-baseline or determine if an issue exists.

HOW AN IT QUALITY ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Review System Integration Testing folders and plans to determine the possibility of adding test cases to the Quality Assurance Regression (QAR) baseline
  • Add claim 837 (I, D and P) test cases to QAR Regression baseline and become familiar with operational aspects of the QAR Regression Test lab
  • Run and monitor test cases when appropriate
  • Run appropriate DB2 SQLs to get new data for test cases as required
  • Review Daily Regression runs and re-baseline failures due to data aging or valid code changes
  • Review weekly cycle results and analyze and compare results from previous week cycle execution
  • Add and adjust changes to specifications which includes system parameters and systems lists
  • Maintain Artifacts/documents Version control using GitLab

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
    •  2+ years of Quality Assurance or Information Technology experience and 2+ years of experience with Medicaid/Healthcare claim transactions with an understanding of regression testing methodology
  • REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
    • 837 (I, P and D) Medical Claims testing experience
    • Knowledge of X12
    • Experience writing SQL Queries and understanding DB2 table relationships
  • REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Experience with healthcare claims of all types; including 837 (I, D and P) transactions
    • Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
  • PREFERRED SKILLS:
    • Experience with healthcare claims terminology and the health industry
    • Experience writing SQL Queries.
    • Knowledge of New York State Medicaid procedures
    • Knowledge of HIPPA X12 Version 5010 is preferred.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $62,962 - $74,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
