Our work depends on Test Engineer Advisor joining our team to design, develop tests and testing requirements for our client’s systems, software, and related technologies to detect issues and ensure high quality.

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Engineer Principal to join a classified government project. The ideal candidate will be an expert in testing complex, mission-critical systems, with a strong background in cybersecurity, cross-domain solutions, and waveform messaging. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and procedures for highly complex systems in a classified environment.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of cross-domain solutions (CDS) to ensure secure data transfer and compliance with strict security policies.
  • Perform rigorous cybersecurity testing, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security control validation.
  • Test waveform messaging systems and signal processing applications to verify data integrity, latency, and performance.
  • Automate test cases and develop test harnesses to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and project managers to identify and resolve issues.
  • Document test results, generate reports, and provide clear and concise feedback on system readiness.
  • Maintain an expert understanding of IC regulations and security protocols.

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field  (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of professional experience in software or systems testing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in testing cross-domain solutions (CDS) and an understanding of their architecture and security requirements.
  • Extensive experience with cybersecurity testing tools and methodologies.
  • Solid background in testing waveform messaging systems and signal processing applications.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with testing tools such as JIRA, Git, and various network analysis tools.
  • Experience in an agile development environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Knowledge of specific waveform protocols and their transport layers.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or relevant vendor-specific certifications.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $119,850 - $162,150. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
