Our work depends on Systems Engineer joining our team to to support a secure cloud-based infrastructure for a federal client. The ideal candidate will have a background in system deployments, security remediation, infrastructure hardening, and AWS cloud operations. This role involves working within a NIST 800-53 Moderate environment and supporting CI/CD pipelines and operational compliance.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage and support AWS infrastructure environments with a focus on security, reliability, and automation.

  • Implement NIST 800-53 moderate baseline controls, particularly those related to system hardening, patching, and configuration management.

  • Automate deployments using CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).

  • Apply security remediations from system scans (e.g., Nessus, SCAP, STIG Viewer) and maintain POA&Ms.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems performance and availability.

  • Assist with documentation of systems architecture, deployment procedures, and security control implementations.

  • Support application and infrastructure readiness for ATO and ongoing compliance requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: AWS services and cloud-based deployments, system administration, infrastructure support, security remediation and hardening.

● Security Clearance Level: Must have or to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

● Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud migration projects, particularly lift-and-shift efforts and CI/CD tools. AWS Certification.

● Location: Remote

● Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $110,614 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
