Network Administrator

HOW A Network Administrator MAKES AN IMPACT

At GDIT a Network Administrator provides real-time operational monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software associated operating systems, activities and technologies of the 24x7x365 Network Operation Center (NOC) supporting the network operations of multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally.

  • Ability to operate under supervision
  • Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks
  • Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics
  • Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
  • Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
  • Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
  • Maintains network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
  • Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
  • Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Assists with the development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in a related field. (Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
  • Required Experience:
    • 1+ Years of Network Experience.
    • Must meet DOD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges. Requirements include possessing and maintaining Security Plus CE. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.
    • Experience and expertise in completing POA&Ms, Assessments and other IT security data calls for DoD IT systems.
    • Broad familiarity with processes and security tools to advise on strategies for complying with DoD IT security requirements and in the development of IT security architectures for BIM program.
    • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skills
    • Thorough knowledge of ITSM best practices and supporting systems
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.
    • Experience working directly with hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process.
    • Provides Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
    • Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers.
    • Experience with various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
    • Experience with STIG patching, compliance, and other security activities
    • NOC/SOC operations background – you've been in the trenches and know what works
    • Incident management expertise with a track record of managing complex, multi-team responses
    • Scripting abilities for automation and efficiency improvements
    • Demonstrated experience in managing around the clock operations ensuring services are maintained at SLA levels.
    • Experience with operations and administration of multiple network vendor systems
  • Security Clearance Level:  DoD Secret Level Clearance required
  • Required Certifications: IAT Level I - within 6 months of hire (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
    • Adept at interfacing with Government at senior leader levels and representing the interests of GDIT

Preferred Skills:

  • ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher

Location:  Oklahoma City, OK (position may start remote and move onsite)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $62,475 - $84,525. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
