ACBN Senior Database Manager
Location: Ramstein AB, Germany
Duties/Responsibilities: The Contractor shall administer, operate, and maintain enterprise USAFE-AFAFRICA Databases (Microsoft SQL, MariaDB) services in support of Air Component Battle Network (ACBN). Support includes, but is not limited to, the following: database clustering, database management, security, performance analysis, backup and restoration, and Microsoft Windows Server operating system support.
Design and implement the technical infrastructure relating to databases.
Perform database utility functions and daily maintenance.
Monitor database and application availability and performance.
Provide maintenance and support for the Windows development and test application environments.
Implement database, code, and script changes in the production environment.
Install new releases of MS Structured Query Language (SQL) Server based applications.
Troubleshoot application issues related to database access.
Backup support for Progress database application environment.
Provide and execute Database recovery procedures.
Provides Information Technology Services Management (ITSM) support, to include Incident/Problem, Change, Service Request and Knowledge Management support.
Provides support for Systems Notices, Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI), and scheduled/unscheduled outages.
Database Experts possess and maintain DoDD 8570.01M/DoDD 8140 IAT II certification, as well as appropriate computing environment certifications.
Minimum/General Experience: This position requires a minimum of ten years of experience, of which at least eight years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes- demonstrated experience with data base design and system analysis, current operating systems software internals and data manipulation languages. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in the development and maintenance of data base systems.
Functional Responsibilities: Manages the development of data base projects. Plans and budgets staff and data base resources. When necessary, reallocates resources to maximize benefits. Prepares and delivers presentations on data base management systems (DBMS) concepts. May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.
Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.
Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:
A Master’s Degree (in subjects described above) and eight years general experience of which at least six years must be specialized experience.
No degree and thirteen years of general experience of which at least eleven years must be specialized experience.
Certifications:
DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II Certification
MSFT SQL Server, Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) or comparable Database certification
Clearance: Secret
Additional Requirements: Candidate must meet TESA requirements as follows:
A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of recent specialized experience; or
Associates Degree and seven (7) years of recent specialized experience; or
No degree and 11 years or recent specialized experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
