MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

GDIT is searching for a Software Developer (Data Scientist) to support our customer in Wiesbaden, Germany. The Software Developer will work as part of team interacting with customers to gather, define, and validate requirements, build/modernize applications to improve/automate workflows, and manipulate/analyze/visualize large data sets.


As a Software Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in supplying mission command support.

  • Conduct data process mapping to document how data flows across systems, units, and operations.
  • Identify and document key information exchanges between mission systems.
  • Document and catalog APIs and data sharing agreements to improve system interoperability.
  • SharePoint Online (document library, lists, web parts, and etc) and SharePoint REST API
  • HTML 5, CSS, TypeScript, React, and modern web development technologies such as Tailwind, Gulp, NPM, Webpack, SASS, etc.
  • Writing unit tests for React applications using libraries such as Jest, React Testing Library, etc.
  • Git and experience with at least one CI/CD tool, such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Building multi-stage CI/CD pipelines for continuous integrations using YAML-based configuration
  • Understands data structures, pipelines, and retrieval.
  • Maintain best practices for information, data, and network security throughout development and deployment.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience automating tasks with Python scripting.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Developer must have:

  • Education: BA/BS Degree
  • Experience: 5 years’ experience of the principles, methods, and techniques used in developing software
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with Python, SQL, and one or more Javascript-based web technologies such as JavaScript, Typescript, Node, React, Angular, VueJS
  • Security clearance level: p Secret Level Security Clearance
  • US citizenship required
  • Certification: DoD 8570 Level II Certification

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
