Job Description

As an IT Operations Manager supporting US Army in Europe & Africa (USAREUR-AF) on the Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services 2 (EMITS 2) contract, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an IT Operations Manager joining our team to support the Program leadership in performing the complex task of overseeing the enterprise IT services in support of the USAREUR-AF mission. Contingent upon contract award.

HOW THE EMITS 2 IT OPERATIONS MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Leads execution of operations across a large, diverse, and geographically dispersed customer base to ensure service levels and objectives are met.

  • Identifies and implements operations improvements based on ITIL 4, PMBOK, and industry best practices to meet established objectives across the entire operational footprint in theater.

  • Implements common processes across sites to streamline operations and gain efficiencies

  • Assists in managing activities related to customer requirements, budget challenges, human resource needs and plans for new business development within assigned area.

  • Facilitates strong relationships with mission customers to ensure customer satisfaction while ensuring adherence to policies and processes.

  • Uses critical thinking and creative problem solving to identify matters of significance, recommend courses of action and implement appropriate solutions.

  • Develops and implements processes for leveraging resources to meet project and customer requirements. Coordinates and communicates with site managers to leverage resources.

  • Implements complex core business processes and assists in process improvement initiatives in order to enhance customer service.

  • Develops and maintains communications with the customer, management and staff to ensure that service is delivered on time and within budget or contractual obligations.

  • Manages operational risk and lessons learned across sites.

  • Manages workforce to include hiring, training, and evaluating employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and motivates and rewards employees.

  • Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval.

  • Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Required Education: BA/BS or equivalent relevant years of experience.

  • Required Experience: 15+ years managing IT operations in a complex, geographically dispersed environment. Significant OCONUS experience managing operations and personnel with diverse IT skillsets operating across multiple countries preferred.

  • Required Certifications:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

    • ITIL 4 Foundation

  • Security clearance level:  TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility

  • Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.

    • Experience managing 25 or more employees across the full spectrum of IT skillsets

    • Must be comfortable presenting to senior executives and VIPs.

    • Strong problem solving and team building skills.

    • Must possess a mission-focused mindset that thrives on delivering positive outcomes and takes pride in accomplishing goals on time and within budget.

    • Must operate with transparency across corporate and customer contacts.

    • Experience utilizing dashboards and reporting tools to deliver meaningful operations and performance data to internal and external stakeholders.

    • Experience implementing ITIL and PMBOK methodologies and industry best practices across large, diverse teams to streamline and improve IT operations.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
