Job Description

Functional Role: ACBN Systems Administrator

Locations:  Ramstein AB, Germany

Duties/Responsibilities: ACBN Systems Administrators configure, operate, and administer assigned on-premises and remote ACBN and Mission Partner Environment (MPE) systems. They optimize system operation and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis to analyze and optimize system performance. They apply security solutions/patches and perform required upgrades. ACBN Systems Administrators perform demonstrations of MPE capabilities, as requested, at duty location and exercise locations across the theater to support building coalition partnerships and capability interoperability. They Provide training documentation and hands-on or remote training to government personnel across the theater, as required for new or existing MPE/ACBN capabilities, which include new connections or new applications. 

  • Manages Analyze System Logs and identify potential anomalies, incidents, or problems.
  • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing environments.
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software.
  • Perform backups and recovery
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Install and configure new hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Add, remove, or update user account information.
  • Answer technical queries and assist customers.
  • Document the system configuration
  • Troubleshoot any anomalies, incidents, or problems.
  • Tune and optimize system performance
  • Configure, add, and delete file systems.
  • Provide input into the ACBN portion of the continuity of operations plan (COOP), support testing as directed by the Government, and support execution per the COOP.
  • Establish a system baseline and evaluate all system changes, upgrades, or replacements for impacts.
  • Build and maintain a proper staging environment that mirrors (as closely as possible) the production environment.
  • Test all updates or changes on the staging environment and obtain Government approval prior to implementing on the production environment.
  • Initiate and maintain acceptable authorization and accreditation (A&A) status for all managed systems.
  • Maintain all system devices (e.g., servers) IAW DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), Air Force Cyber Command (AFCYBER and 16 AF taskings).
  • Take appropriate measures to respond to known and possible network attacks IAW applicable DoD policies, directives, and instructions.
  • Ensure all Contractor managed items are configured to store and archive all system, device, application, and security event logs IAW DoD security policy.
  • Audit and review all system, device, application, and security event logs IAW DoD security policy.
  • Support and provide the necessary information (e.g., firewall logs, system logs, ad storage media) to the computer network defense service provider and other Government-designated organization in the performance of forensic analysis services when required. 
  • Provides Information Technology Services Management (ITSM) support, to include Incident/Problem, Change, Service Request and Knowledge Management support. Provides support for Systems Notices, Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI), and scheduled/unscheduled outages.


Experience: Requires a minimum of four years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating computer systems. General experience includes operations experience on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network.

Education: BA/BS in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.

Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:

A master’s degree (in subjects described above) and three years’ general experience of which at least two years must be specialized experience. No degree and eight years general experience, of which six years is specialized experience.

Certifications:

  • DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II Certification
  • Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801), VMWare VCP, VMWare VSphere, Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or similar

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
