Job Description

Our work depends on a Senior Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Process Analyst joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  The customer has a strong appetite for innovation, automation and leveraging much of the ServiceNow platform.  If you have strong analytical skills and a natural desire to learn, then this position and team may be a good fit for you.

As a Senior CMDB Process Analyst supporting CMS, you will be entrusted to identify, streamline and centralize business processes and ensure overall data accuracy. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Serve as a key ServiceNow process owner for CMDB responsible for implementing best practices as pertains to maintenance and updating the CMDB, implementing governance, auditing, reports and metrics, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve CMDB management and ITSM processes.
  • Partner with business process owners and management on strategic initiatives.
  • Implement standard naming conventions and prevent duplicate CIs.
  • Administer CMDB tools (such as de-duplication, data management policies, identification and classification), ensuring proper functionality and integration with IT systems.
  • Provide training and support to users on CMDB processes and tools to garner business value.
  • Work closely with IT, infrastructure, application and security teams to ensure data consistency.
  • Provide reports and metrics on CMDB status and data quality.
  • Ensure accurate records of Configuration Items (CIs), servers, network gear and applications.
  • Provide expertise to Identify process improvement and automation opportunities within CMDB management.
  • Manage expectations and address concerns proactively.
  • Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for best practices, standards and procedures for efficient CMDB usage.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to propose enhancements and improvements to existing processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in ITSM processes, primarily in CMDB management.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL & ITSM fundamentals.
  • Solid skills using ServiceNow CMDB and CMDB tools. Strong ability to ensure accurate data classification and deduplication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in parallel with an awareness for evolving prioritization.
  • Self-motivated to keep learning about the ServiceNow platform, capabilities and best practices and apply/share them with teammates and our customer
  • Experience working on project teams that leverage Agile/Scrum
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent working experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ ServiceNow Certification in Discovery, Event Management, CSDM, or Service Mapping.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification (v3 or higher) or a willingness to attain within first year.
  • Proven problem-resolution, decision-making and analytical skills with keen attention to detail under limited supervision.
  • Energetic, goal oriented, proactive, innovative, hardworking, and patient.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint

LOCATION: Remote. Candidates in the DMV area strongly preferred.

CLEARANCE:

Ability to obtain a Public Trust: candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years and pass a public trust background investigation.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $90,950 - $123,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
