Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Director of Business Development - DMDC/DCSA to lead the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new business opportunities within GDIT’s DISA and Enterprise Services (DES) Sector. The candidate will leverage their deep understanding of the government’s mission priorities, as well as key relationships within relevant agencies. Occasional travel to support customer engagement is required.

You will leverage your knowledge to develop customer and partner relationships, provide thought leadership in the marketplace, and lead the development and execution of GDIT’s go-to-market account plans. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to play a leadership role as we work together and apply the significant resources available in our organization to meet critical technology and mission challenges.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive new business development lifecycle opportunities - from opportunity identification, qualification, and win strategy development through the post-submission phase of the Capture process
  • Bring creativity to the customer engagement process to develop strong relationships and improve GDIT's positioning and brand recognition
  • Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy, strengthen key customer relationships
  • Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to formulate, communicate, and implement an integrated business development strategy that provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for the award
  • Develop and implement account plans and campaign strategies, maintaining current knowledge of the customer's requirements, understanding the competitive landscape, and architecting winning strategies that highlight GDIT’s strengths and mitigate perceived weaknesses
  • Establish value-added teaming strategies and deploy competitive pricing structures to create a profitable return
  • Lead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO and Solution Architects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal experience with a demonstrable track record of success in Federal government contracting. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, combination of education, work experience and certifications will be considered.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required
  • US Citizenship required
  • Successful track record advancing new business development strategies for opportunities of varying sizes
  • Proven ability to build relationships and lead people, influencing all levels of an organization
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Active engagement as a visible thought leader in the relevant customer eco-system(s)
  • Able to develop actionable plans by leveraging market knowledge
  • Highly collaborative leader that can lead teams and also contribute effectively as a team member or individual contributor
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce), SharePoint, and all Microsoft Office applications
  • Location: Candidate must be located in either metropolitan area of: Washington, DC / Monterey, CA / San Antonio, TX (hybrid to locations)

  • Experience developing business in and cultivating relationships across a variety of defense agencies to include the Defense Manpower Data Center and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $183,498 - $241,759. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
