Job Description

The VTC technician requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in VTC , system administration or end user support. The role involves daily management of VTC and conference room systems, supporting the upgrade and installation of new conference rooms and troubleshooting technical issues. The technician is responsible for ensuring the functionality of VTC equipment, supporting conferences, and resolving any issues that arise during operations. This position also includes mentoring junior technicians, maintaining government asset inventory, and performing user training.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for daily management of MS Teams based VTC and Conference Room systems
  • Resolve problems and configure rooms to meet requirements for scheduled conferences.
  • Operate and troubleshoot VTC and conference room equipment, initiating trouble tickets for external support when needed.
  • Perform routine performance testing to ensure VTC equipment operates at optimal performance and capacity.
  • Support the installation of new or upgrades of existing VTC systems
  • Serve as a Tier 2+ technician, handling uncommon incidents or requests outside the standard scope.
  • Support VTC and Presentation Conferences, verifying functionality, assisting with setup, and troubleshooting during conferences.
  • Perform spot checks of equipment to verify functionality on a scheduled basis.
  • Troubleshoot Codec hardware, network, VLAN, software configurations, and inter-device connections.
  • Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Provide user training and mentor junior VTC technicians.
  • Maintain an accurate and complete government asset inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ensure compliance with command training and employment requirements in accordance with all established policies and guidelines.
  • Complete orientation and competency verification programs in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in functions and meetings as assigned, providing relevant and timely information to assist with decision-making and process improvement.
  • Engage in customer service initiatives and training when required.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and performance evaluation of newly assigned personnel as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while fostering a cohesive team environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
•    Education: Associate's Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
•    Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience 
•    Required Technical Skills: System Administration, Video Teleconferencing Services, End User Support, Troubleshooting/Problem Solving
•    Security Clearance Level: DOE Q or TS
•    Required Skills and Abilities: Written and Oral Communication, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Organization, Problem Solving, 
•    Location: Albuquerque, NM
•    US Citizenship Required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $39.56 - $53.52. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
