Job Description
SUMMARY: Field Service Technician Senior, Fires – Camp Humphreys, South Korea – Secret Clearance Required. Primarily supports software Fires family of systems: Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Pocket-Sized Forward Entry Device (PFED), CENTAUR Light Weight Technical Fire Direction System, and Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS). Specializes in supporting Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) To include any future replacement systems.

How the Software Support Representative, Fires Family of Systems will make an impact:

  • Provide technical guidance and over the shoulder assistance to unit maintainer for software installation, configuration, patching, and routine system maintenance on Fires Family of Systems
  • Provide technical guidance and over the shoulder assistance to unit maintainer to Initialize and troubleshoot software interfaces for Fires family of systems with external C5ISR Systems
  • Travels to various sites to assist units in software updates and troubleshooting/fault isolation
  • Provide technical guidance and over the shoulder assistance to unit maintainer to Perform analysis of system operations, network connectivity with the Data Dissemination Service (DDS), and other tactical systems
  • Provides Commanders and Staff with recommendations on how to best leverage mission command Fires platforms to meet their operational needs.
  • Attend Fires Support Elements and S6 briefings and participate in conference calls to identify issues with Fires platforms.
  • Prepares weekly/bi-weekly reports for customers
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Provide informal over-the-shoulder training and software mentorship to MIL/GOV personnel.
  • Assist new users with managing system requirements to include data management, data recovery, and techniques to operate/maintain records.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills: VMWare, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2012-2019
  • Security clearance level: Secret
  • Professional and effective writing and communication skills are required.
  • Understanding of server/client system relationships.
  • Certification Required: CompTIA Security + CE

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $33.97 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
