MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Patch and Test Facility Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role in supporting operations at the Patch and Test Facility (PTF) at MacDill AFB, Florida.
This role supports high-availability communications for a large, diverse user base across multiple secure networks. Responsibilities include provisioning, modifying, and restoring services in accordance with local and higher-level policies, as well as providing installation, testing, systems integration, and technical support in a 24/7 operational environment.
Responsibilities
Prioritize and manage daily work assignments to meet operational requirements.
Troubleshoot, install, operate, and maintain PTF systems to ensure continuous service availability.
Operate and maintain USCENTCOM HQ fixed and deployable IT systems, including long-haul communications and tactical network infrastructure.
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment.
Complete service requests, generate reports, and support service restoration efforts, including equipment changes and configuration updates.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal IT organizations to support projects, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service implementations.
Provide field support at forward locations within the Area of Responsibility (AOR), as required.
Open, track, and close service tickets using ServiceNow and FaCIT, and maintain a Master Station Log.
Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled outages with DISA and other external agencies.
Configure, operate, and maintain cryptographic equipment and troubleshoot secure circuits locally and remotely.
Support rotating shifts and non-standard work schedules as mission requirements dictate.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Administrator Senior must have:
Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
Experience: 3+ years of related experience
Technical skills:
Experience in high-tempo military or enterprise telecommunications environments
Proficiency with long-haul data and voice transmission technologies (fiber, copper, satellite)
Experience troubleshooting SONET/MSPP, CTP, and ODXC systems
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills supporting mission-critical communications
Experience with encryption devices and secure voice/data transmission policies
Valid U.S. passport
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired skills:
Hands-on experience with KG-175D/G/F/N/X TACLANE and KG-250X/XS encryption devices
Knowledge of higher-level transport infrastructure, including SONET/ MSPP and ODXC
Prior experience in military Tech Control or Patch and Test Facilities (TCF/PTF)
Required Security clearance level: TS/SCI
US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
