Training Specialist Advisor (Database Specialist)

HOW A DATABASE SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Develop, configure, and maintain simulation databases supporting constructive modeling and training environments
  • Integrate C2, order of battle, and other operational data sets into simulation platforms
  • Conduct comprehensive data validation, trouble shooting, and corrective actions to ensure simulation fidelity
  • Apply configuration management and version control processes to maintain database integrity
  • Customize and optimize database structures to meet specific scenario and exercise requirements                                         
  • Collaborate with scenario designers and exercise planners to ensure data supports training objectives
  • Assist with data formatting and import/export operations across all simulation platforms
  • Generate documentation and metadata for all database builds and modifications
  • Willing to learn, work as part of team, and as an individual with minimal guidance
  • Participates in other projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: AS/AA in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
  • Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience; MTC and military experience preferred
  • Required Technical Skills: Working knowledge of JLCCTC-MRF/ WARSIM functional operations and Low-Overhead Driver (LOD); basic proficiency with JCATS, OneSAF and JSAF; ability to perform data entry, import/export, and format conversions within sim platforms; understanding of the JELC process; Knowledge of how to integrate C2 systems; Experience with importing LDIF; Working knowledge of Army War Fighting Functions
  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance required
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel; strong ability to identify and troubleshoot problems on assigned simulation drivers (JLCCTC/JCATS, etc.) (co-located and at remote sites); strong effective presentation and communication skills; knowledge of relevant technology or subject matter; ability to manage time effectively to meet build schedules and exercise deadlines; strong attention to detail; ability to lift 40lbs of equipment; ability to perform shift work of up to 12 hours with long periods of standing or walking
  • Location: On Customer Site / moderate travel required to other customer sites in the AoR

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $59,500 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
