At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Sr. SQL Server/ SSIS Developer supporting WTCHP, you will be trusted to design and develop ETL. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. 
  • Design, develop, and unit test SQL Server ETL processes and thoroughly evaluate the system to analyze upstream and downstream effects. 
  • Gather and analyze functional requirement documents from the business and understand the key business questions. 
  • Translate the functional requirements into technical specifications. 
  • Build and maintain the naming standards and data dictionaries with respect to the data model and database and document the data model. 
  • Develop, operate, and maintain a transactional processing system. 
  • Design, build, and maintain data warehouse to house data extracted from multiple sources to support analytical analysis/financial reporting. 
  • Enhance the existing data model to facilitate the financial and clinical reporting needs of the end users. 
  • Reverse engineer existing source databases to understand the data architecture and perform detailed source data analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support the ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) process. 
  • Design and maintain source to target mapping and implementation documents to support the ETL processes to refresh the target database or data mart with data from multiple sources. 
  • Create and maintain SSIS/SSDT packages to load data from various sources to data warehouse as well as generate output extracts to external entities. 
  • Support ad hoc report requests from the business. 
  • Create and maintain database objects, enforce constraints, and create validation rules around data maintained in MS Access databases for custom functionality. 
  • Develop and maintain production notification process to efficiently track and report the automated job status to the business. 
  • Tune SQL generated by MicroStrategy for improved performance. 
  • Effectively utilize the tool to its maximum efficiency to read, cleanse, validate, transform, and move data from a variety of source data structures into target databases and vice versa. 
  • Interact and coordinate with business teams as part of requirements gathering and analysis and conduct design review meetings. 
  • Use of SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), T-SQL, CA Erwin, Visual Studio, Tortoise SVN, MS Visio, MS Office, and Windows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in the job offered or 10 years in a related occupation including Data Modeler, Programmer Analyst, or related experience. 
  • Position requires 10 years of experience with ETL, SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, CA Erwin,. Strong SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) skills required.
  • 75% ETL work is done in SSIS.

LOCATION: Remote

HOURS: 20 hrs/week

CLEARANCE: Ability to pass CDC background check / clearance process.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $51.85 - $70.15. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
