Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiators. As an IT Future Operations Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on the IT Future Operations Advisor joining our team to provide a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to anticipate future IT needs, implement innovative solutions, and ensure operational readiness for the CITS Program located at MacDill AFB, FL.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead and manage complex IT projects from inception to completion.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to IT operations, including cybersecurity threats, system failures, and supply chain vulnerabilities.

  • Develop contingency plans and ensure operational resilience.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor degree with a focus in business administration or a related field of study

  • Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience

  •  Required Technical Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Ability to collaborate across departments, including IT, operations, and leadership teams.

    • Build consensus and foster alignment on IT initiatives.

    • Ability to analyze complex IT environments and identify areas for improvement.

    • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize IT operations.

    • Solve technical and operational challenges proactively.

    • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Lead cross-functional teams to execute IT initiatives and achieve strategic objectives.

    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

    • Manage resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliver results.

    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

    • Adapt to changing priorities and evolving organizational needs.

    • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions.

    • Understand the organization’s mission, goals, and challenges.

    • Align IT initiatives with business objectives to deliver measurable value.

    • Prioritize IT investments based on their impact on organizational outcomes.

    • Communicates effectively with project stakeholders and customers

    • Provides reports on program performance to the Program Manager, customer and organization leaders

    • Team player with the demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, motivate teaming partners/staff to ensure high levels of engagement

    • Experience in strategic planning, including contributing recommendations with supporting data and preparing and executing action plans.

    • Proven proficiency in analyzing, evaluating, and overcoming program risks across multiple project teams

    • Experience managing Government/Military programs

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Proven and Experienced Leader in Technical Communications, Defensive Cyber Operations and Network Operations. Adaptive to innovative technology, program management and process improvement

    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

    • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense, Service and Joint Task Force (JTF) communications employment and operation policies and procedures

    • Communications Operations, Planning and Intelligence experience

    • Significant experience within USCENTCOM operations, AOR and staff work

  • Location: Onsite at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI clearance required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
