Job Description

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Test Engineer supporting our Navy Enterprise Service Desk (NESD) customer. GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Test Engineer supporting federal contracts in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group, you will be trusted to evaluate and support development of software, web, telephony, and virtual agent applications. This role will be done remotely.

HOW A TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Designs, develops, evaluates, plans, and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applications.
  • Participates in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing.
  • Participates and collaborates with team members to assess Story Point / complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
  • Collaborates with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets,
  • Develops and documents end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (ITSM /JIRA)
  • Provides early exploratory testing during the development phase.
  • Designs, codes, and deploys automated test scripts.
  • Maintains test documentation, provides support to government test organization, evaluates test results, and provides feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education:  Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent years of experience)

Required Experience:  2+ years of IT experience

Security Clearance Level:  Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Interim Secret Clearance must be obtained to start working

Required Technical Skills: 

  • Proficient in the different software testing methodologies 
  • Test Automation: Selenium and Test Complete
  • Conceptual knowledge of agile integration. Ability to work as part of an agile team utilizing Scrum
  • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies
  • Ability to test application developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products
  • Experience with developing and documenting end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system ITSM and JIRA

Preferred Skills: 

  • Active Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Automated Call Distribution (ACD) and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) experience a plus
  • Java / C#, JavaScript, or equivalent Programming Language
  • Experience with Automation Testing Tools (such as Automated Test Frame (ATF), Selenium WebDriver, TestComplete, UFT)
  • Amelia (Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Database/Backend testing, Performance Testing, Load Testing experience a plus
  • Implement and identify innovative tools, frameworks, automation, and utilities to increase velocity while maintaining and improving quality standards

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
