Solutions Expert

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Solutions Expert at GDIT. Here, you’ll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients. You’ll make the end user’s experience your priority and we’ll make your career growth ours.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. You will join our team in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to more than 7.0 million New Yorkers through its Health Benefit Exchange (HBE).

As a Solutions Expert, you'll develop and implement advanced AI/ML techniques and cloud technology solutions that directly support critical government missions. Your expertise will drive transformative outcomes for our public sector partners.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

  • You'll join our talented Solutions Architecture Team. Our project is built on a multi-tier architecture including Service Oriented architecture, multi-tier web applications using Java and various other COTS products.
  • You'll develop and implement advanced AI/ML techniques and cloud technology solutions that directly support critical government missions. Your expertise will drive transformative outcomes for our public sector partners.
  • You’ll design and develop sophisticated AI/ML solutions that solve real-world problems
  • You’ll architect optimized cloud solutions leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • You’ll create data optimization strategies using cutting-edge AI/ML approaches
  • You’ll  build seamless integrations across applications using leading integration platforms
  • You'll provide comprehensive application engineering and architectural support for the NY State of Health program
  • You’ll partner directly with NY State Department of Health (DOH) stakeholders to deliver strategic design and implementation guidance
  • You’ll conduct regular architecture assessments, providing actionable recommendations for system improvements
  • You’ll lead solution planning and capability enhancement initiatives with specialized focus on:
    • Advanced cybersecurity implementation
    • Application layer design optimization
  • You’ll participate in early scope/Requirement discussions to identify a solution for each Change Requests (CR)
  • You’ll lead the solution development for existing application and any future state application
  • You’ll create High Level Design and Architecture checklist for CRs
  • You’ll collaborate across teams and overseeing the solution is implemented as expected across the board
  • You’ll actively look for solutions with any oversight on security
  • You’ll document Architecture and Application patterns
  • You’ll provide guidance and support in systems integration and API management
  • You’ll explore solutions thru POCs and POVs
  • You’ll collaborate with senior managers to determine the application needs
  • You’ll prepare and present solutions to Senior Management and our client

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience 

Experience:    

  • 15+ years of related experience

  •  Advanced Problem-Solving Expertise: Exceptional analytical capabilities to translate complex business challenges into actionable technical requirements and innovative procedural solutions, consistently delivering measurable business value.
  • Superior Communication Across Audiences: Masterful communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with demonstrated success conveying complex technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and impact.
  • AI/ML Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience implementing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions using enterprise platforms including AWS Bedrock and/or Azure OpenAI/ML, or Google Vertex AI, with a track record of delivering production-ready intelligent systems.
  •  Cloud Architecture Mastery: Extensive experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep understanding of cloud-native architecture principles and best practices.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
